Amazing plan with impressive diagrams complete with shopping list and cutting list. Everything you need to build a professional looking shed at a fraction of the cost of alternate solutions. I was always taught there is no such thing as a free lunch but this throws that old saying right out of the shed’s window! Great job!

I have studied your plans, but I don’t know how to cut a notch in a 2 by 4 as needed for the roof rafter. Could you explain how to do that? Thanks

Hi, I hope you received an answer or were able to figure out the bracing. I’m a home owner who is following alone with a 10X12 barn style shed.
From the pictures it looks like the bracing pieces are lining up with their skinny side toward the wider side of the rafter. The bracing is then cut half way 1.75″ to make a notch to go over the bracing from the inside of the shed. You’ll want to space them at 16″oc so you can secure the t1-11 siding on the end.
I tried a google search (duh as if that’s a new a idea) and was able to find a couple of pictures that help show the truss a little better but not much. I’ve taken a look at some of the sheds at the local big box store for ideas, but they have them set up a little different.
I am close to that same situation, but I have decided to place my 2X4’s toe nailed to the top place at 16″oc. On the top I’m putting a 22 1/2 degree cut so they line up perfectly with the top. The outer two will have to be cut at 45 degrees to line up with the steeper side of the truss. To reinforce them I’m adding in a 1/2″ piece of osb facing the inside of the shed on the top and bottom. I know they sell these type of metal plates, but I think OSB should be fine. Good Luck

Looks like EXACTLY what I am trying to build as a storage shed for a property I have set up as a personal camping spot. Thanks!

Размеры не верные в инструкции. Выемки на основании крыши не совапдают с 2х4.
Размер фанеру (настила крыши) не совпадает с размером самой крыши
Размер основания для настила крыши не совпадает с самой крышей.Reply

The dimensions of this shed are perfect for me, but I’d much prefer a shed roof, rather than a gable roof. Do you have plans for that ? Thank you

I forgot to mention that I’d like the shed roof to angle downward toward the front. Thank you.

You’re referring to a lean to shed. There are plans on this site for a 4×8 version. You might be sble to take that and adjust it as needed.

I just built one of these with my son . Once near complete we noted that there is an open space between the top of the side walls and the roof.. We are worried about birds and/or critters getting in. Do you have suggestions on how to cover that gap?
